VF-XX   -Zentradian Valkyrie-

According to the anime plot, U.N. Spacy was seriously damaged by Zentradi, but fortunately obtained an almost undamaged Zentradian military satellite of automatic weapon factory.

In order to overcome the weakness of Valkyrie such as strength of movable parts and speed of transformation, U.N. Spacy learned and adopted technologies for joints and power system of the Zentradian battle suits.

And then the project of VF-XX was launched since the early 2060s and accordingly the first prototype of VF-2SS rolled out in 2072.

This drawing was actually portrayed by Koichi Ohata. I am not sure whether Kazumi Fujita was involved in its design or not. However, if VF-XX was set as the technical predecessor of VF-2SS, it is natural that the angular styling of the first Valkyrie was refined to the beautifully curved styling of Valkyrie II.
